HOMING IN ON E-HOME
Savvy house buyers usually do a fair bit of research before investing in properties. Their task will be made simpler when the Housing and Local Government Ministry launches its e-Home portal in August.
Scouting for homes will then be at the click of button. The portal contains information about housing projects and details of developers.
The Ministry’s secretary- General Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail said that the portal would help house buyers pick and decide.
“The status and updates about developers would be put up on e-Home. House buyers can check the background of the developers to see if they have a good record or have been blacklisted”. “Through the portal, house buyers can also find out if development on the property they have purchased has been abandoned. They can then go to their bank and reschedule their loans,” he said.
E-Home, which will be made accessible through the MyGovernment portal, www.gov.my, will also cater to developers.
“It is for everyone who wants to learn about the housing industries. All aspects of it will be put up. Students who are doing research can also obtain information through the portal,” said Ahmad Fuad.
He said the functions of the National Housing Department would be featured in the portal, including the relevant acts, policies, regulations, guidelines and by-laws.
Fuad said that once e-Home is up and running, applicants for low-cost homes could also register online.
Similarly, he said, disgruntled house buyers would be able to lodge complaints online to the House Buyers Claims Tribunal.
“They can keep track of their cases online, but will still have to attend the hearing in
person,” he said.
The portal also facilitates housing developers in their dealings with the government.
Eventually, the submission of relevant applications will all be done via the e-Home portal.
“The system will tell you where and what happen to your file. It promotes efficiency and transparency,” he said.

ONLINE SYSTEM PAVES SMOOTHER ROUTE TO JUSTICE

The Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia is an independent body which hears and dispenses justice over disputes involving aggrieved consumers.
Its scope of power is provided for under the Consumer Protection Act 1999.
The number of claims brought before the tribunal is increasing, which means its workload is much heavier. But even so, the tribunal has to ensure that it processes the rising number of claims within the stipulated limits of the law.
One way of ensuring this via automation-processing claims online. The online system is beneficial not only in terms of facilitating the tribunal’s work processes, but also to consumers, traders and other clients. It is also enhances the efficiency of the tribunal’s public service delivery system.
The e-Tribunal System allows for a comprehensive and responsive data management. Through this system, work procedures can be easily monitored and improved. Reports and various statistics can also be produced using online data applications.
The system can be accessed by the tribunal’s staff and the public. For the staff, the system will be used for 80 per cent of the work processes.

A more systematic information management will facilitate the hearing and dispensation of claims. The tribunal supervises all information digitally to ensure all work processes are running smoothly.
Among the modules available for the public are online enquiries, filing, and fee payment. All information related to consumer protection is also available.
By using the online enquiry and complaints module, consumers will have access to legal advice without having to make their way to the tribunal’s counters. To prevent baseless claims and enquiries, the system only allows registered consumers to make online enquiries.
By using the online filing module, consumers and traders can file Forms 1, 2, 3 and 12 online. The filings of the documents are provided for under the Consumer Protection Regulations (Consumer Claims Tribunal) 1999.
The online payment module enables payment for the filing and defence of claims without the need for either party to be present at the tribunal.

Thanks for all you've done
I've missed you for so long
I can't believe you're gone
You still live in me
I feel you in the wind
You guide me constantly

I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
And ill come home and I miss your face so
Smiling down on me
I close my eyes to see

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

I carry the things that remind me of you
In loving memory of
The one that was so true
Your were as kind as you could be
And even though you're gone
You still mean the world to me

I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
But now I come home and it's not the same, no
It feels empty and alone
I can't believe you're gone

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

I'm glad he set you free from sorrow
I'll still love you more tomorrow
And you will be here with me still

And what you did you did with feeling
And You always found the meaning
And you always will
And you always will
And you always will

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me
